The DEJ is the Dermal-Epidermal Junction. It is the basement membrane where the dermis and epidermis meet that helps support the skin’s structure. As we age, key proteins break down in this area increasing the visible signs of aging. During youth, this junction is very “wavy”. With age, this junction flattens and skin becomes more slackened. It’s a key area for skin cell communication and cohesion. Research has shown that addressing the health of the DEJ greatly affects the outward appearance of the skin.

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 improves dermal collagen and provides a more firm and lifted appearance. Rhamnose and Silanetriol help stimulate the production of multiple DEJ proteins including Collagen IV, Collagen VII, and Laminin-5. Furthermore, these ingredients, when combined, have been shown to improve a thin and flat DEJ to resemble that of youthful skin with a wider and wavier DEJ. Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract helps increase the synthesis of Collagen IV and reinforces dermal- epidermal structural integrity and cohesion. It also increases synthesis of Collagen I, III, and Elastin to help improve crow’s feet elasticity and firmness. Tetrahexyldecyl (THD) Ascorbate also helps to enhance the DEJ to promote skin firmness and brighten skin. These ingredients together help improve the DEJ to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, redensify skin, firm and lift the eye area.

An in vitro study was conducted to examine the potential of D·E·J Eye Cream® causing irritation using a reconstructed cornealepithelium. This product was not shown to cause irritation to the eye and there was no statistically significant change in tolerability parameters including edema, burning or stinging.

Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, a prebiotic, selectively supports the growth of healthy organisms which helps balance and support diversity on the skin’s Microbiome to promote overall skin health. Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract is also a postbiotic that supports the skin’s microbiome.

Multiple ingredients including Hyaluronic Acid, Sunflower Seed Oil Unsaponifiables and Cucumber Fruit Water help to moisturize and hydrate the eye area.

D·E·J Eye Cream® contains several powerful antioxidants including THD Ascorbate, Vitamin E, Panthenol and Leontopodium Alpinum Meristem Cell Culture, derived from the Edelweiss plant. Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline provides antioxidant benefits.

This product is not recommended to be layered with Teamine® Eye Complex.

If the main concern is dark circles and under-eye puffiness, C+ Brightening Eye Complex™ should be used. If the main concern is visible signs of aging around the total eye area including the eyelids then D∙E∙J Eye Cream® should be used. C+ Brightening Eye Complex™ should never be used on the eyelids. Both products should be used as directed for 12 weeks for optimal results.
